The S.A.M.E.R. project was developed to address the need for schools to strengthen their capacity to identify areas most sensitive to change and to integrate appropriate resilience strategies. Many institutions currently lack clear tools to assess their vulnerabilities and opportunities, making it difficult to respond proactively to evolving challenges.
A key challenge identified by project partners is the absence of a comprehensive self-assessment tool with a clear structure and well-defined indicators, which schools could use to pinpoint their most change-sensitive areas. Moreover, there is a notable shortage of methodological instruments based on practical experience rather than theory. This highlights the need for guidelines and interactive materials that help schools systematically enhance their resilience, allowing students, teachers, and administrative staff to integrate new solutions into daily activities effectively.
Recognising that schools of all types—regardless of geographic location, economic background, or social context—need to identify vulnerabilities and build resilience, the S.A.M.E.R. project aims to create accessible digital tools and methodological instruments. These resources will benefit not only the participating schools but also institutions beyond the project.
The project will be implemented through an open-access platform, where the self-assessment tool will be available as a digital solution. The platform will provide schools with user-specific information about their change-sensitive areas and deliver tailored recommendations to strengthen resilience. In addition, it will host methodological instruments and offer guidance to support schools in building their overall capacity for resilience.
