During 2015 – 2016, IECE developed a novel methodological and numerical model consisting of analytical and planning framework intended for evaluation and improving climate resilience of environmental, economic and social sectors related to water use in complex multi sector systems. The project titled as Development of an integrated model for environmental economy evaluation of large hydro projects was financed by Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of Republic of North Macedonia (contract number 08-4941/1-01.06.2015. The model provided basis for simulations by a software tool of systems’ behavior and response to varying conditions. For the purposes of the Project, the model was demonstrated on the Hydro System Knezevo in North Macedonia and applied for other hydro systems in the country.
